For many people and their carers, the idea of moving into residential care can evoke strong emotions of the unknown, including distress, anxiety, grief, or even a sense of loss.

We appreciate just how difficult this can be, and we have a team of dedicated staff who warmly welcome and assist everyone settle into their new home at St Catherine’s.

What is Permanent Care?

Our permanent residents receive 24 hour care and have the opportunity to participate in activities through our lifestyle program.

At St Catherine’s we can accommodate people with both high and low care needs, which means our residents receive continuity of care as their needs change – without the need to move should their circumstances or health deteriorate.

Every resident who calls St Catherine’s home is provided with their own private room with ensuite, all meals, laundry and cleaning services, and a care program tailored to their individual needs and interests.Temporary respite can assist relieve the stress on a carer and for their loved one receiving care, and it is also often a comfortable way to trial the lifestyle of residential aged care or assist a loved one gradually transition into permanent residency.

How do I apply for residential permanent care?

Every new resident must have an approved ACAS assessment. This assessment is free and your doctor can advise you or alternatively, visit the My Aged Care website, or call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422
